In collaboration with Frame Property, this project reworks four flats within a Victorian terraced house in Lewisham, South East London.
Acting as both Developer and Architect, we carefully designed and constructed the project to achieve quality on a modest budget. Existing features such as architectural mouldings, sash windows and floor boards have been carefully restored and enhanced, with new joinery and bespoke lighting articulating an otherwise simple space.
Commissioned as Architect and Project Manager, and in collaboration with Daytrip Studio, this project is for a whole house renovation in Clapton, Hackney. The project includes a roof extension, a front garden excavation and a rear extension, including substantial structural alterations to create generous ceiling heights and glazed openings.
The design seeks to create a bright and spacious home, creating new spaces that complement the reconfigured Victorian house. Externally the choice of material is traditional, with brick to the rear and leadwork to the roof, however the detailing and composition has been carefully designed to create an elegant and contemporary building.
The house is currently on site and will be completed in the spring of 2019.
Bindloss Dawes were invited my the owner of a Somerset diary farm to investigate the redevelopment of its buildings and land.
Our proposal included alternative strategies of demolition, restoration and new-build construction, and considered how different uses and densities could be adopted on the site. The study considered different approaches to the landscape, with hard and soft finishes, and how the flood-prone stream could be incorporated into the landscape design.
